Netanyahu nephew faces court martial for pacifism

A nephew of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's finance minister and former prime minister, faces a three-year prison sentence for refusing to serve in the army.

About 20,000 ultra-Orthodox teenagers are exempted each year under special laws that cover students who attend yeshivas, or religious schools. Officials have recently expressed concerns that increasing numbers of Israeli men may try to opt out of military duty.

About 520 reservists recently declared that they would refuse to serve in the occupied territories for moral reasons.

Bush library donors to be kept secret

Donors to the new presidential library probably will remain a mystery, according to the nonprofit foundation overseeing its fundraising.

"It's our decision not to disclose who the donors are," said Mark Langdale, president of the George W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, citing some donors' preference to remain anonymous.

The foundation, which will oversee construction of the library, museum and public policy institute at the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, had raised less than $3 million when the latest tax reports were filed in August.

That's far short of its $300 million goal, but foundation officials say the fundraising will pick up significantly after Bush leaves office Jan. 20.

Barack Obama: The Naked Emperor

I studied the military/government mind-control programmes and techniques in great detail for many years during the late-1990s and across 2000, and the Obama 'phenomenon' is the most blatant mass-mind control operation you could wish to see.

At its core the plan has been to make Obama the focus of everything you hope for, believe in and want to change. This is why it has been crucial for him not to specify and detail what is meant by his 'hope, 'change' and 'believe'.

Attorney General: Cheney Interview Protected by Executive Privilege

The president may assert executive privilege to withhold from Congress records of an FBI interview with Vice President Dick Cheney regarding the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity, the attorney general concludes in a legal opinion released Monday.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee subpoenaed the records as part of its long-running investigation into what roles, if any, President George W. Bush, Cheney and their aides may have played in the leak.

Holocaust Remembrance: What's Behind the Campaign?

Every major American city has at least one Holocaust museum or memorial. Worldwide there are more than 250 Holocaust museums and memorials, most of them in the US and Europe. The largest is the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, which is run by a taxpayer-funded federal government agency, and draws some two million visitors yearly.

What’s behind the Holocaust remembrance campaign? Whose interests does it serve?

The Holocaust Remembrance campaign encourages sympathy and support for Jews and Israel. It helps to justify America's massive and on-going support for Israel, and to excuse otherwise inexcusable policies of the Zionist state.

'Karl Rove's IT guru' Mike Connell dies in plane crash

56A top level Republican IT consultant who was set to testify in a case alleging GOP election tampering in Ohio died in a plane crash late Friday night.

The interest in Mike Connell stems from his association with a firm called GovTech, which he had spun off from his own New Media Communications under his wife Heather Connell’s name. GovTech was hired by Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell to set up an official election website at election.sos.state.oh.us to presented the 2004 presidential returns as they came in.

At Siemens, Bribery Was Just a Line Item

Mr. Siekaczek (pronounced SEE-kah-chek) says that from 2002 to 2006 he oversaw an annual bribery budget of about $40 million to $50 million at Siemens. Company managers and sales staff used the slush fund to cozy up to corrupt government officials worldwide.

The payments, he says, were vital to maintaining the competitiveness of Siemens overseas, particularly in his subsidiary, which sold telecommunications equipment. “It was about keeping the business unit alive and not jeopardizing thousands of jobs overnight,” he said in an interview.

Three decades after Congress passed a law barring American companies from paying bribes to secure foreign business, law enforcement authorities around the world are bearing down on major enterprises like Daimler and Johnson & Johnson, with scores of cases now under investigation. Both companies declined comment, citing continuing investigations.
