Six killed as gunmen open fire in Tel Aviv
At least six people have been killed and nine wounded in a mass shooting at a Tel Aviv railway station, Israeli police said.
Police had earlier said four people were killed and seven wounded in a suspected terror attack in Israel’s central city of Tel Aviv, adding that two assailants had been “neutralised”.
“Four civilians were killed by gunfire from two terrorists. Additionally, there are seven injured individuals in varying degrees of severity according to medical sources. Both terrorists have been neutralised on site,” police said in a statement.
Police said the gunmen opened fire in Israel’s commercial capital Tel Aviv on the boundary with Jaffa and there were a number of casualties.
TV footage showed gunmen getting off at a light rail station and opening fire. Israel media reported at least four people were seriously injured.
U.S. Sanctions Extremist Israeli Group For Violence Against Palestinians In West Bank
In addition, the State Department placed diplomatic sanctions on two men—Israeli settler Eitan Yardeni, for his connection to violence targeting West Bank civilians and Avichai Suissa, the leader of Hashomer Yosh, a sanctioned group that brings young volunteers to settler farms across the territory, including small farming outposts that rights groups say are the primary drivers of settler violence across the territory.
The sanctions, which expose people to asset freezes and travel and visa bans, come as violence against Palestinians in the West Bank has exploded since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, following the deadly terrorist attacks of October 7th.
Palestinians report verbal and physical harassment, restriction of movement, and face intimidation by settlers circling their properties on motorbikes, cars or horses and spying via drones.

Kyiv, its surrounding region and all eastern parts of Ukraine were under air raid alerts.
Israeli ground forces launch targeted raids in south Lebanon
Israel's military said its troops began limited ground raids against Hezbollah targets in the border area of southern Lebanon early on Tuesday, as a ground invasion by its troops appeared to be getting under way.
Calling the campaign Operation Northern Arrows, the military said in a statement that the targets were in villages close to the border and posed "an immediate threat "to communities in northern Israel." It said the air force and artillery were supporting ground forces with "precise strikes."
