President Trump marks his first year in the White House on Jan. 20. Since he took the oath, he's been dogged by questions about his hundreds of businesses and the conflicts of interest they pose.

In attempts to confront Trump and force him to address these conflicts, congressional Democrats, state attorneys general and watchdog groups have sued the president. So far, their cases have not advanced very far in court. A federal judge has dismissed one suit.

In his first year as president, Trump used his bully pulpit and Twitter account to fuel conspiracy theories, level unsubstantiated accusations and issue easily debunked boasts about his accomplishments.

FBI Agents Association reports $140K in donations amid Trump criticism

 Assoc. receives large donations after attacks on Mueller

An organization representing current and former FBI agents on Tuesday said it received more than $140,000 in donations to the group's two charities, amid ongoing criticism directed at the agency by President Trump.

The FBI Agents Association tweeted on Tuesday that the charitable donations will go toward improving the lives of the children of deceased FBI agents.

"This month, more than 2,000 donors contributed over $140,000 to our two charitable funds. This money will send the children of deceased Agents to college and help FBI families in need," the association tweeted.

Trump telss friends they're gonna get richer under new tax plan.President Donald Trump joined his family at their "Winter White House" for the holidays Friday night after signing the GOP Tax Bill into Law, and reportedly told wealthy friends dining at Mar-a-Lago "you all just got a lot richer."

Days before heading home for the holidays, Trump told White House reporters that the tax bill would be "one of the great Christmas gifts to middle-income people." However, Mar-a-lago's exclusive dinner guests would have paid a $200,000 initiation fee and $14,000 in annual dues to Trump's golf club and resort.

Oval office where Trump insulted Haitians and NigeriansIn a fit of anger during a June cabinet meeting in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump said Haitians entering the U.S. "all have AIDS" and that Nigerians would never "go back to their huts" once they saw America, according to The New York Times, which reported the comments in a bombshell article it published Saturday.

The White House denied the former reality TV star made the controversial remarks. “General Kelly, General McMaster, Secretary Tillerson, Secretary Nielsen and all other senior staff actually in the meeting deny these outrageous claims,” Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told The New York Times. "It's both sad and telling The New York Times would print the lies of their anonymous ‘sources’ anyway."

Prosecutors subpoena Deutsche Bank records tied to Kushner Companies: report

Federal prosecutors in New York have subpoenaed Deutsche Bank for records tied to senior White House adviser Jared Kushner’s family business, The New York Times reported Friday.

Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York subpoenaed the records from the German financial institution over the past few weeks. It's unclear what records the prosecutors are pursuing, or how closely tied they are to Kushner himself.

Kushner Companies has taken out hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from Deutsche Bank over the years.

second federal judge halts Trump's birth control rule

A federal judge in California has temporarily blocked the Trump administration's rule that makes it easier for employers to deny contraceptive coverage on moral or religious grounds — a requirement under Obamacare.

Judge Haywood Gilliam, Jr., of the the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, issued the ruling today. It's the second time in a week that a federal judge has blocked the Trump rule. A federal court judge in Pennsylvania granted a preliminary injunction on the same issue last Friday, determining the directive would cause "serious and irreparable harm."
