FBI Raids Dallas Internet Service Provider Core IP
The raid had to do with the activities of a former customer, according to Matthew Simpson, Core IP's CEO. "The FBI is investigating a company that has purchased services from Core IP in the past," he wrote in a note posted to a Google Sites page. "This company does not even collocate with us anywhere, much less 2323 Bryan Street Datacenter."
"Currently nearly 50 businesses are completely without access to their e-mail and data," Simpson wrote. "Citizen access to Emergency 911 services are being affected, as Core IP's primary client base consists of telephone companies. "

A pair of bills introduced in the U.S. Senate would grant the White House sweeping new powers to access private online data, regulate the cybersecurity industry and even shut down Internet traffic during a declared "cyber emergency."Senate bills No. 773 and 778, introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., are both part of what's being called the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, which would create a new Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor, reportable directly to the president and charged with defending the country from cyber attack.
New York Times threatens to shut Boston Globe
The New York Times Co (NYT.N) has threatened to shut The Boston Globe unless the newspaper's unions agree to $20 million in concessions, the Globe reported on Friday, quoting union leaders.
