Family Of 4 Found Dead After Being Kidnapped From California Business

Family of 4 found dead after kidnapping

All four family members who were kidnapped from a California business on Monday have been found dead in a farm area, the Merced County sheriff said Wednesday night.

A farmworker came across the bodies of 8-month-old Arrohi Dheri; her mother, Jasleen Kaur, 27; father Jasdeep Singh, 36; and uncle Amandeep Singh, 39; in a Merced County orchard, according to Sheriff Vern Warnke.

“It’s horribly, horribly senseless,” Warnke said. The bodies were all found in the same area, he said.

The California Department of Justice’s crime lab is expected to process the scene with investigators. The sheriff said authorities don’t yet know the motive.

Warnke said he’d been able to speak to the suspect, who is in custody after apparently trying to take his own life, but the sheriff did not share any details.

TVNL Comment:  This is so horrible and so sad.  There is something terribly wrong with our society and our world.  Our hearts go out to the family and friends of this ill-fated family.

When contacted by NPR, neither Niemann nor tournament organizers offered a comment on Wednesday.

NYC police investigate after Russian consulate vandalized

Russian Consulate vandalized

New York City police are investigating a possible bias incident after red paint was sprayed on the Russian Consulate.

Police received a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. Friday at the Upper East Side building and found that the facade of the consulate had been vandalized with red paint, according to police. There were no obvious words or symbols painted on the building.

As of Saturday, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The State Department said it was facilitating contact between the consulate and NYPD. When asked about claims on social media that the Russians say State has ignored their security requests, a senior State Department official said: ”We follow our diplomatic obligations.”

How social-emotional learning became a frontline in the battle against CRT

SEL turned into Critical Race Theory war

It's hard to pinpoint when exactly the questions started coming in. Angelyn Nichols, an administrator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, thinks it was sometime in early 2021.

What she does know is that no one really expected them in the first place, and no one expected them to keep coming – week after week, and now, year after year.

That's because the questions involved a decades-old teaching concept many educators thought was settled, uncontroversial territory: the idea that, in order to learn, students need to know how to manage themselves and get along with others.

Paul Haggis can argue Church of Scientology behind rape allegation, judge rules

Haggis, who was separately accused over the summer of sexually assaulting a woman at an Italian film festival, will be permitted to argue that church members were involved in a previous rape allegation brought by film publicist Haleigh Breest dating back to 2013. That case, stemming from a civil lawsuit pursued by Breest, is set to go to trial next month.

Haggis has claimed that the encounter with Breest was consensual and that the allegation against him came in retaliation for his decision to leave Scientology and to become a vocal critic of it.
