The United States has imposed new sanctions against two individuals and two entities connected to a Russian disinformation campaign that included a bevy of fake news websites, the Treasury Department announced Wednesday.

Those sanctioned include Moscow-based Social Design Agency (SDA) and its founder Ilya Andreevich Gambashidze, along with Russia-based Company Group Structura LLC and its owner and CEO Nikolai Aleksandrovich Tupikin, the Treasury said in a statement.

Al-Masirah TV, the main television news outlet run by Yemen's Houthi movement, reported that the strikes were directed against oil facilities in the port and caused fatalities.

Hodeidah residents told Reuters by phone that explosions were heard throughout the city during an intensive bombardment.

On Friday, a long-range Iranian-made drone hit the centre of Tel Aviv in an attack claimed by the Houthi militia and which killed one man and wounded others, the Israeli military and emergency services said.

Britain's new Labour government said on Friday it would resume funding to the U.N. Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA in the first major change in how it will approach the Israel-Palestinian conflict after winning power earlier this month.

Two people in the U.S. have died and 28 people have been hospitalized from a multi-state outbreak of listeria linked to sliced deli meat, federal health officials announced on Friday.

A dozen states in the Midwest and East Coast reported people recently became ill from listeria, a bacteria that causes potentially foodborne illnesses and is especially concerning during pregnancy, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a news release. The deaths occurred in Illinois and New York. New York also had seven cases, CDC data showed.

The sick people’s samples were collected between May 29 and July 5. In interviews,16 of 18 sick people said they ate meats sliced at deli counters – most commonly deli-sliced turkey, liverwurst, and ham, the CDC said. The CDC is currently investigating which types of meat may be contaminated. There is no evidence that prepackaged deli meats made people sick with the disease, CDC said.

People at higher risk of getting sick from listeria should avoid eating meats sliced at deli counters unless they heat those meats to 165 degrees, or until they're steaming hot, the CDC said.

A Jan. 6 defendant with a long history of ties to white supremacist groups — and who appeared to raise a Nazi salute atop the Capitol steps — was sentenced Friday to nearly five years in prison for his violent role in the attack.

“We fought a world war to beat back the Nazis,” said U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell as she sentenced South Carolina’s Tyler Dykes to 57 months in prison. “The defendant thinks there’s something attractive about Nazi ideology.”

Howell also imposed a $20,000 fine.
