Cheney: CIA did nothing illegal in interrogations

Vice President Dick Cheney said Thursday that he sees no reason for President George W. Bush to pre-emptively pardon anyone at the CIA involved in harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists. "I don't have any reason to believe that anybody in the agency did anything illegal," he said.

New Research Scandal: Scientist’s Hidden Tobacco Agenda Exposed

The CRI carries out activities in support of the WHO's public health programs and is an internationally renowned teaching institution. MacKenzie and Collin's study suggests Walk used the connections he made to influence the study and teaching of environmental toxicology -- the study of how chemicals in the environment, including tobacco smoke, can injure human health -- at the institute. The scientist's hidden agenda? To advance the interests of Philip Morris within Thailand and across Asia.

The newly discovered link between Philip Morris and the CRI discussed in their PLoS Medicine paper raises suspicions that the tobacco industry is influencing medical research at the institution. This is especially troubling because of the CSI's WHO affiliation, the researchers point out. Article 5.3 of the international treaty called the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control asserts public health policies must be protected from the vested interests of tobacco companies.

Did the Reagan Revolution actually win? Local and State Governments are Selling Off Public Property and Services

Reagan's economic target was to drown government in a cocktail of lowered government spending, deregulation and reduced tax rates. However, in order to shrink government to bathtub size, the role of private business had to expand to fill basic needs, which was totally fine with Republicans.

But another consequence of Reaganomics, one that doesn't jive so much with traditional Republican values, is the reduction of states' powers. Local governments are beginning to see the real meaning of trickle-down economics: dwindling federal funds make it harder for states and cities to meet annual budget requirements.

Bayer Knowingly Sold HIV-Contaminated Vaccines, Say Internal Documents

In 2006, it was discovered that Bayer found out a vaccine it was selling in the United States was accidentally contaminated with HIV.

3) Israel has the right to kill civilians. That is called “legitimate defense.”

Israeli propaganda takes international beating

Israel has taken a battering in the global media battle over its war on Gaza, despite deploying a propaganda campaign that used Youtube and blogs, experts said.

Populations and even governments worldwide have slammed the Israeli military onslaught on the Gaza Strip, with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemning attacks near UN schools that killed dozens and foreign media angry at being kept out of the Palestinian territory.

With images of parents carrying lifeless children to overwhelmed hospitals dominating international media, angry protests have been staged in major capitals and Israeli websites have reportedly come under cyber attack.

TVNL Comment: We should expect some kind of false flag cyber-terrorism that will result in a lock down of the Internet.
